Pause. For Awhile.

Forgive me for writing personal stuff once in awhile. And this is one of those "personal stuff" that pops up every now and then.

It caught me off guard. I was too self-absorbed I did not notice.

Pardon me for overstaying your kindness. And for making you feel manipulated. And also for pushing you to the wall. I am at fault. It's not my upbringing or past experiences. I have been busy pursuing goals and killing enemies that I forgot to be a friend. Its always been "me". Me, that matters. Me that should be the priority. "Me", for everything that surrounds me.

Of course I care. Always cared about you. I just don't show it.

Don't worry, I'll get out of your way for now. It seems that I have been ruining most of your days.

Weekenders

Before the weekend finally starts we had few shopping done. We bought some books (which I will upload later when I get the chance again) for the birthday girl and other loots that we love.

This is our latest baby: a telescope

i know that it is not that high powered but the instructions says it can be zoomed 90X, making the moon and stars visible. TeeHee. I know that I had my solar system lessons and somehow learned the constellations when i was in gradeschool but the interest was lost as i get immersed with math. But i realized that it was not that late to catch up.

so we will be star gazing soon. after the rain stops falling, i guess.

how about you? what's your new loot?

Innovations

I am still here. But rarely post something because nothing caught my fancy for awhile. No cute new technologies or science application to talk about. I have few photos to upload but I am too lazy or too busy to sit down and keep this blog updated. Maybe on the weekend I will get myself into writing something new, or interesting.

Let the sunshine in. Have a great mid-week!

Baking or Sewing?

I have been looking for something to do as a hobby. But since I can not decide between sewing and baking, my search for the perfect free time activity remained unknown. Lately, hubby and I have been into baking. I wish we can come up with an online business so that we will be encouraged to bake more goodies. For now, I get busy looking at different goods that are Japanese-inspired. I love their culture and art.

Paying Attention

Few minutes ago I was telling Hubby about paying attention. Lately I am losing focus because there are tons of things that were not scheduled but we have to accomplish with a very short notice. I have somehow exhausted. And that causes the procrastination stage that I am in right now. So I surf and play games online, neglecting everything about school and work.

Tonight, I will cram. But for now, these two blogs occupy my thoughts: the blog about a father with out a short term memory and organic living. I have other things in mind that I want to learn like carbon footprint and DYI's that seems important for a soon to be home-owner like me.

I might try doing some physical exercises to ward off this lazy feeling that has taken over me since the middle of the week. While I am at it, I hope that you will enjoy reading those mentioned blogs.

Have a happy Sunday.

Renovation Thoughts

I am considering renovation for this blog. This blog needs more color.

Maybe next week.

Cold or Flu?

I have been busy the past few weeks. People are getting colds and flu all around me. And I have to take care of kids who caught the flu. Before the month of February ends, I came down with the flu.

So, what is colds and what is flu? According to USFDA, the two are almost similar. But flu or influenza when untreated can be serious because one can get pneumonia.

How would you know if it is a cold? If you have stuffed nose and sore throat, then it is cold. But when these symptoms comes with fever and body pains, that is flu.

These can be avoided by washing hands and avoiding contact with people who are already sick. Disinfectant is important and keeping dirty hands from entry points in the body such as nose and mouth can be preventive. If someone already got it, a doctor can be summoned once they started coughing and having high-grade fever.

If the budget can accommodate the price, flu shot is the best prevention. But before you get the shot ensure that you are not pregnant or does not have allergies. If you are already sick you must remember to have plenty of water and rest. The water will keep you hydrated and the rest will hep your body to heal.

With the global crisis at the background, getting sick should be avoided. Keep the body healthy by eating right and having exercise. A healthy mind helps too, so stop stressing out on irrelevant matters.

Smiling is helpful too, it keeps the heart light.

Grief

(This entry is dedicated to a great soldier who have a big heart)

On personal note,I found the colorful world less pleasant since last week. I know that Christmas is near but I want to say my final goodbye to a great soldier who left this world last 15th.

The family will miss you, GrandPa.

Life is not as happy compared when you are still around but the little girl that you raised will keep her promise. She will be as wise and smart as you have wanted her to be. This tiny space in the web will not be enough to show how much she loves you.

My pain is just a pinprick compared to the other people in this world but the emotions is just the same:painful.

Whatever is in the life after death, I hope that you finally found the peace that Earth can not give you. Have a sweet journey, GrandPa.

Jobs for Chemical Engineering Graduates

When I started my undergraduate degree I have no idea what will be my career after school. Even when I was in my last year in college, I am still clueless.

Most people I met have almost identical reaction whenever they learn about my undergraduate degree. Thinking that this is a very difficult degree, they are wondering how one survives it. Well, depending on the student, chemical engineering is actually a great course. Like all degrees that lead to a rewarding career, finishing the chemical engineering course is no walk in the park.

To start with, Chemical Engineering course talked mostly about engineering concepts and mathematics. Applied chemistry were taught later on together with various industry application of engineering and mathematics. Since this is a combination of engineering and chemistry, it is neither purely technical and business. It is a degree on technology and marketing: engineering for profit and technology for chemistry.

What are the jobs for a chemical engineer? Well there are plenty to choose from:

-If you are good with optimization and equipment design, then a Design Engineer position is perfect for you.
-For those who are good on processes and increasing profits by improving the quality of products then you can be a Process Engineer
-Research and Development Engineer are those who enjoy the laboratory activities
-Some even end up in the field where they can be technical engineers or sales engineers.

The Chemical Engineering degree is a holistic course. Since this is about industry and engineering your studies covers everything like food, metals, plant designs, business and even environment. So the career choice is endless.

How did I know that? It takes one to know it. :)

Happy Halloween to All!

Financial Accounting And Technology Commercialization

Yesterday was the last day of our preparatory courses for the graduate studies. The last lesson we had is about accounting in the management context. I never took accounting in my bachelor's but was able to get a week of training on basic accounting last year. For an engineer like me, this is another side of mathematics that sometimes contradicts the rules taught in the engineering mathematics subjects. We were able to understand though the reason why there has been a financial crisis from the view of a financial expert.

After the almost two days lecture on accounting an examination followed. We were tasked to answer quiz related to the subject and there is a bonus essay that we have to answer ( i think it is optional).

I understood that a financial statement can be used in different ways and can be manipulated depending on the use of the document. This serves as a warning to someone who wants to invest on something that promises high ROI.

And this subject emphasized as well the importance of financial accounting on technology commercialization. With financial accounting, the business plan can be mapped out. The financial analysis plays a big role on the success of a certain business.

Sunday is Fun, If I Keep Myself from Falling Asleep

The weekdays had been hectic. I have been working the whole week real hard between the day job, part-time and graduate school pre-semester activities. On graduate studies, I am still trying to get the hang of it: listening to professors talking about things in a more formal way, meeting classmates who are older than me (others are younger) and additional hours away from home.

I have to admit that this has been a struggling week because I have to adjust my schedule on everything. I am hoping to write something decent later. So please hang on. :)

Popularity is a Contest

This entry is very short. I need to talk out loud. It has been bugging me for awhile now, I have done a lots of tweaking, checking the meta tags, the titles, resubmitted the site map but it seems my pagerank in Google still have a problem. If I based it on the statistics from Google Web Master Tool, there are no errors on them. In fact most of my visitors came from Google.

So I wonder, what is wrong with my PR?

Slow Down Your Thoughts, Don't try Blocking them

Finding something to do is not as difficult as it seems, but something that pays is a totally different issue. Although there are lots of things to tap for earning money, the biggest money generator nowadays are the online generators. I can attest to that.

With my day job taking up most of my intellectual juices, a part-time seems out of the question. But since I loved writing even when I was still on my third grade, an opportunity knocks and I drew up the courage to give it a shot. I earned enough to call it a decent earnings for a part time job and there are a lot more that I was not able to explore yet.

(webshot source: google images)

Recently I tried the pay to click (PTC) and I think it just not my type. I heard that lots of people earn a lot from this but I think I don't have enough patience to wait for a site for a minute before clicking the next site.

Entry jobs, blogging, review are some of the online jobs available. For those who have the time and internet connection, this are great opportunities to try. For the technical guys, hosting your own domain and selling ads will definitely a blast.

For me? simple blogging and some project-based online writing gig is enough for now. I think happiness for me is by sharing my ideas on this online diary. I think I don't have much skill for data entry and PTC.

Happy surfing everyone!

Silence means Something Good is Happening

I have been silent for awhile now. Not by choice though. The usual volume of work from my day job was reduced but going out to other places to promote the company had taken whatever time made available after the new staff was hired. So instead of getting it a little bit easier on the day job,I ended up doing more. No,no complaints here. I just want my share of readers to know that I am still here...and please bear with my absence.

'nuff with the sad news, the good news is I finally have my own internet connection at home so it will be easier for me to jot down my thoughts and new information and share it with you. :)

On technology news, I think this is something that is not so new but I might share it as well.

Japan with their electronic technology advancement came up with another idea on providing comforts to human. As an addition to their technology on automatic opening and putting down of toilet seat cover, a MP3 player is installed in the toilet where the user can listen to his own SD card. Great right? Well, TOTO of Japan seems to be coming with lots of ideas that contribute to the quality of life.

Selling Online

Everyone is starting their own business. I wish I have my own business to run too since somehow its been part of my daily routine when I was younger: selling. With ebay and Multiply sellers kicking off it was not more than once that I have tried to come up with my own online business. Unfortunately I was not able to come up with something that is worth investing. And online business is great, if I have to base it on the growing number of people. Actually I have something in mind for a business but I don't have much time to do it. Maybe when we get our own place I can start with the business.

I am A Homebody and Much More...

What Your Bed Says About You

Outward appearances are a concern of yours, but not your primary concern. You try to take care of yourself and your home, but it's not an obsession.

You are an organized and disciplined person. You do the right thing because you want to, not because people expect you to.

You are not very high maintenance in general, but you are high maintenance about a few things.

In relationships, you tend to be quite dominant. You enjoy taking charge.

You tend to be a down to earth, practical person. You think in terms of what is actual.

You are a bit of a homebody, but you can also make yourself at home anywhere.

A Great Dating Game

The good thing about single hood is meeting new people. Dating is the more romantic side of meeting new friends which eventually may become more than friend. So, how do you approach a prospective partner? Pick up lines, as I've mentioned on my previous blog is important because first impression decides the start of a friendship. Although some people are open on meeting friends even if they started on bad footing, some relies on their first impression.

There are lots of pick up lines that you can use. My favorite is from a Hollywood movie, the Monster's Ball: "I want to take care of you", by Billy Bob Thornton. It is so sweet and everything is in the message.

Interested now about pick up lines? I recommend then that you try Extreme Style by VO5 game. This will hone your skills on meeting great individuals and while having fun, you will learn more about working pick up lines on Ultimate Flirting Championship game.

For more widgets please visit www.yourminis.com

Remember, when things are good you will definitely have a Victory Hair. So try it, and have fun.
