Cold or Flu?

I have been busy the past few weeks. People are getting colds and flu all around me. And I have to take care of kids who caught the flu. Before the month of February ends, I came down with the flu.

So, what is colds and what is flu? According to USFDA, the two are almost similar. But flu or influenza when untreated can be serious because one can get pneumonia.

How would you know if it is a cold? If you have stuffed nose and sore throat, then it is cold. But when these symptoms comes with fever and body pains, that is flu.

These can be avoided by washing hands and avoiding contact with people who are already sick. Disinfectant is important and keeping dirty hands from entry points in the body such as nose and mouth can be preventive. If someone already got it, a doctor can be summoned once they started coughing and having high-grade fever.

If the budget can accommodate the price, flu shot is the best prevention. But before you get the shot ensure that you are not pregnant or does not have allergies. If you are already sick you must remember to have plenty of water and rest. The water will keep you hydrated and the rest will hep your body to heal.

With the global crisis at the background, getting sick should be avoided. Keep the body healthy by eating right and having exercise. A healthy mind helps too, so stop stressing out on irrelevant matters.

Smiling is helpful too, it keeps the heart light.
