Free Online Classes

Having a business means financially free, right? I have been looking all over the internet for free online classes that I can take on my own pace and I stumbled upon one great site. The U.S. Small Business Administration website offers free lessons from starting a business up to federal tax training. For those who are interested to take these classes can register online.

Manic Monday

Are you a talker or a listener? Is it ever possible to really be both?

Both. I can shut up when needed but when prompted to speak, I can talk for hours. :)

Do you think God has a sense of humor?

I'm not sure how to answer this. Maybe.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Have you ever experienced it?

I believe in attraction at first sight, then love develops.

Digital Wood Moisture Meter: A new innovation

If you are someone who loves interior home design, you will be glad to know that soon there will be available digital wood moisture meter. For people who engage in wood furniture business, this is something that you might consider having. Compared to the expensive counterpart, the calibration is no longer needed since it was designed for local wood species. Thus, another budget friendly to consider. The technology cost around four thousand pesos with parts locally available, therefore maintenance will never be an issue.

The government made some significant moves to make this possible. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) provided financial aid to put this concept into application. For those interested to this technology, find out more at this site.

A New Place To Hang Out

Being part of the rat race, I have always thought that having the internet to communicate with people around the world is the best offer that I ever tumbled upon. But I never realized that aside from keeping in touch with my friends and relatives through emails and instant messaging, it will bring my joy a notch higher than I have expected.

For someone who enjoys blogging and maintaining relationship with friends online, a small space to keep my journals and sets of friends is good enough for me. Although I have been enjoying earning money from my writing gigs, I am more than happier when I read in one of the forums that I frequent (who happens to follow the word of mouth ethics) that there is a social network that offers an opportunity for writers and advertisers to meet. The PayPerPost is a blessing. You will not only meet an advertiser who will provide sponsorship for what you love to write, but will also meet people whom you share the same interest: writing.

PayPerPost, as I have mentioned earlier offers space to make friends and earn at the same time. This is one good place to meet new friends and expand your network and earnings.

Why do I write? Because I love to and with PayPerPost, not only will I be able to write about things that interest me most but will also enable me to buy the gadgets that I have been eyeing for a year. I will definitely spend that earning into something that I can use for my blogging, a new laptop, maybe? Well, what do you think readers? Sign up now!

Taking the limelight : My first Bento Box

This is not the first bento box that I brought for lunch. But this is the first to be shown online. :)

My lunch is composed of the following:

1. apples
2. oranges
3. slices cucumber
4. apple-cinnamon bread
5. 1 Dunkin' Donut's munchkin
6. potted pork
7. some jell-o

I wish I was able to add some vegetable but I don't have much time to prepare one since I also prepared P's lunch box. Both have the same content so I did not post any picture here.

Dangers of Microwave Oven

One of my older colleague left me staring at her with amusement when she told me that her microwave oven in their house was seldom used. And to tickle my humor further she accounted how the microwave radiations leaks into the food and contaminate it. According to her, this will lead to cancer.

Is it true that microwave oven causes cancer?

I pored over my books on cooking and found one that specifically discusses microwave. According to the book, microwave oven is a broadcast network with shorter range. If you are familiar with the radio waves on broadcasting networks, this one is pretty the same. Their difference is that microwave's range is less than 2 inches while radio waves can go for miles. And instead of transmitting voice, it converts the energy to heat.

Surprisingly, it it used also to transmit phone calls and even data. And weather forecast are transmitted through microwave on Doppler radars.

I told her that heating or cooking your food on microwave do not increase your risk on having cancer. And it does not increase your electric bill as well. Microwave oven compared to other oven (i.e., toaster and conventional) does not require heating of its other parts. The food is the only thing that should be heated in the microwave oven, so there is no warm up/heat up -what so ever that are usual on cooking appliances.

And if someone understands how microwave works, they can maximize the benefit of this science.
